Wireless Dog Fence

When one considers a traditional dog fence, or electric fence, there is usually quite an emphasis on burying wires, white flags marking the line of the fence, and the inability to adjust the pain or shock of the fence itself. However with the advent of wireless technology, even dog fences are now wireless!

With wireless dog fences, up to half an acre of land can be covered which allows for your pet to roam about in areas previously off limits that were incapable of being included in a traditional electric fence. So get ready to let your new puppy or even older dog have a great time romping through the brush or playing in a creek, because wireless dog fences have arrived!

Without any wires to bury or line your yard with, wireless dog fences take a whole lot of hassle out of the chore of containing your pet. Previously, installing these systems took much effort and required cables upon cables to be put all across the area that was to be covered; a back-breaking effort to say the least. Now with a wireless dog fence, the setup can take minutes and not much more than an hour at most.

A very important part of any wireless apparatus is the signal field, or commonly termed the range of the device. With most, the signal field is a 15 to 90 feet radius from the transmitter itself. However, with electric wireless fences improving, some more advanced models can function with two base transmitters that allow for nearly 330 feet in diameter of ‘safe zone’ for your pet!

Additionally, changes in height that previously gave wireless systems a whole lot of trouble are now accounted for; generally up to about 72 feet in change can be covered when the wireless net is thrown out.

Some other features of these devices that are pet specific are varying levels of correction and the size of the collars themselves. With up to 5 levels of correction, your dog, depending on its weight and ability to obey orders, can be taught with the proper amount of punishment if he or she strays from your yard. A one size fits all shock just is not appropriate; and certainly not humane!

With wireless technology improving all the time and allowing for a highly personal system, there’s no reason not to give your yard a truly invisible fence.
